Winter Help
Winter always presents a challenge here at Yokoji. We get a lot of snow and we are often short on residents, especially during the holiday season in December. There are snow plows to operate, snow shovels to operate (less tricky for sure but harder work!), wood to split and move around to the various stoves, as well as all the usual work of cleaning, cooking, administrative tasks and grounds maintenance. We often need the most help during, before and after the big storms that hit. If you are interested in volunteering during this time, either doing physical work, or taking over on some of the less physical work to free up others to tackle the snow, please let us know.
If you live locally (or even if not) and can get up here to help as a storm comes in that is tremendously helpful. If you drive a 4WD vehicle and can pick up or drop off people, supplies and groceries for us, that is also a big help. Or if you just really love being in the snow and, digging, plowing, scraping, stacking, then come and join in when you can.
We will be sending out emails during the winter at times that we know we will definitely need help, so please sign up above if you have not already. Thank you.
